Welcome to the history of M42 imaging portal.

This is  the evoulution of my imaging of M42 the Orion nebula beginning around 2005. M42 is located approximately 1,300 light years from earth in the constellation of Orion. It is one of the brightest nebulae and is visible to the naked eye in dark skies. Our earliest efforts were with a Minolta fillm camera. Currently we are using a CMOS color camera and have begun using a monochrome camera with assorted filters. Being one of my favorite nebula there are plenty of pictures with a wide variation in processing improvement.
