Welcome to the NGC6960 portal.

I decided to give NGC6960 (The Western Veil) its own page to show the evoulution of my imaging of this super nova remnant. NGC6960 is the remnant of a star that went super nova about 10 to 15 thousand years ago (depending on which source you reference). At its brightest it would have been about 30 times brighter than the planet Venus (which means it would have been visible during the day) and is located approximately 1,470 light years from earth. Along with other remnants it forms the Cygnus Loop.
