Charles Messier (June 6, 1730-April 2, 1817) was a French astronomer interested in discovering comets. He compiled a list off non comet objects to aid his search. Eventually his list grew to 110 (7 of which were added after his death by referring to his notes.).The catalog is still used today especially by amateur astronomers. Below you will find a list of the Messier objects photos. There are 56 star clusters, 10 nebulae, 40 galaxies, and 4 misc. objects.
